Summary:
This beautiful walk starts at Constantine Bay and then finishes at Mawgan Porth.
A long and beautiful walk high on the clifftops over looking the wild Cornish coastline. This walk does meander up and down the coast path, with some steep inclines. Be prepared for the Cornish weather. Beautiful seascapes, changing climate and an array of fascinating sea birds.
Description:
The walk starts at the beach car park at Constantine bay, where we pick up the coast path and set out on our way. As we walk around the headland and approach Treyarnon Bay you can be prepared to see some amazing views. At Tryarnon bay there is a natural sea pool, which can only be accessed at low tide. If you are a wild swimmer then bring your swimming stuff.
Looking over to Trethias Island we will see three prehistoric cliff castles that date back to the iron age sometime between 800 BC and 43 AD. We will follow the coast path on and experience some extraordinary views and stunning rock formations formed from the rocks being beaten by the waves. The Atlantic rolls straight onto this shoreline and so it gets the best of the wild sea weather and the coastal storms.
We will pass through Portcothan and then carry on along the coast path towards Bedruthan steps. A stunning area that has a glorious beach and a famous stack of rocks. The steps down to the beach are sadly closed due to erosion from the waves but the views from up high are breathtaking. We carry on along the coast path and pass the island at Pendarves Point. We will carry on past disused mineshafts at Trerathick point and finally come to Trenance Point where the path carries us over the clifftops before descending gently to Mawgan Porth.
Here our walk ends. Accommodation can be arranged and this walk can also be a part of our self led walking packages - please enquire for more information.
